[IMG]Don't feel awkward about being here at HCRU before you get your hermies...it's the BEST thing you could do!! I was given my hermies by someone who couldn't care for them. They had been told improper care information which they told me and I only wish I would have found this forum first.
Sadly, I was told to do all the wrong things to do to care for them and lost one shortly after getting them.
I'm learning a lot and my hermies are doing well now, thanks to everyone here.
Good luck as you look forward to your new hermie additions. [IMG]

[IMG]Thank you! Bob is a really sweetheart and Mo is just plain crabby!!

They are alive today because of what I've learned from everyone here. In fact they've been doing so well that they've each molted twice in 3 months time!! I hope they slow down for a bit now!

    Hi Ash!
I'm new here also. Only my second time ever in a chat room. I have suddenly become interested in hermit crabs because my neice brought one from her class home to take care of for the summer. I am trying to learn all I can about them.I just bought 5 of my own.

Are you finding it impossible to go to bed at night without peeking at them one last time? Are you still awake two hours after you swore you were done watching them for the night? Do you have dark circles under your eyes from lack of sleep due to crab watching? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you are officially addicted. LOL

    Wendy,
Thanks, now I don't feel so crazy for watching my crabs at night. The one night I sat quietly and perfectly still in a chair because I thought that one of my crabs was going to change shells and I was trying to catch him "doing it". They always manage to do it when I am not looking. I always check them before I go to bed, and first thing in the morning when I wake up, even before my coffee. Does this mean I am an addict? Oh no!!!! I see a bigger tank on the horizon.

Don't feel bad, Denise. When I first got my crabs, I'd sit up at night about eight feet away, peering at them through binoculars because my eyes are so bad I couldn't see them with the moonglow on.
