    I've had a 10g, 20g, 40g, and now a large reptile tank. Between them and everything, I mean everything. Over 1000.00

    I think I spent about $100 but the cost was split between my partner and I. I purchased so much and they purchased so much. It was a joint effort and agreement to have a pet. However, I have definitely spent a lot more in the long run with lots of Addiction store food orders and other supplies such as nets and hideys and the like.

    Probably about $100 for the tank and decorations etc.

    Then 150 if you add in the crabs themselves!

    200$ just on the crabs, then ungodly amounts for everything else over time. I'd say over 1,000 as well

    4 crabs @ about 15 -20 $ each { 1 died }
    had tank already a 10 gallon
    6$ on worthless smelly calci sand that had to be replaced after a few days & wasn't even deep enough for them
    * un educated store owners!*
    25$ on food { commercial } said that's all we needed
    table sea salt { again check the * } this was used for spraying the you know what out of them & didn't even know they need to have a pool they could submerge their shell in!
    fresh water to drink, just bottle water! the list goes on & on of the things we were told that were wrong.
    got a 22 gal ? at yard sale for 8$ with hood and everything & been used for reptiles. Ther crabs have been through a lot! But are happy now, cause mamma has been researching like crazy!
    MY ADVICE IS RESEARCH! RESEARCH!
    Freeze dried shrimp 6$ , crab toys 10$, shells 2.99, Research priceless!
    if I knew what all this was going cost & that I would of ended with them I would of put my foot down and said no to my son ever getting the crabs, now he has a rat! I said no, no, no! I will not take on the rat! not afraid just do not want a rat!

    About $180.

    My 55 gallon tank was 120(This is the third time i set up.). The other stuff wasn't much. I got most of it through adoptions(which were free). The EE was around $24 for 4 bricks. The sand was $2.99 for 50 lbs.

    And then my grandmother sent ALL KINDS of stuff.

    The first time i got a kritter keeper, I spent $8.00. The Kritter Keeper was $5.00, if you got 1 crab with it the crab was free. The we got another crab at the same time, which was $2.00Then the 2 painted shells we got were 50c each. The EE was $6 for 1 brick.

    The second time i had a fish tank that we had stored. $12 for EE.
    We bought a coconut and made hideys, $1.50.
    Then we had some other stuff, i can't remember, it was about $10 dollars.

    So, about $245.00 all three times.

    I know I spent over $200 on the new tank and current setup. Heck, I know it's over $300 with some of the more recent modifications (buying the new hideys and stuff to make them). And that's not including my original purchase of sand (the expensive kind) and the 10g setup, or food. For a while, the crabs had their own bank account.
