I need advice. My little Shyguy was buried for about 4 weeks. (He is a smallish small) He came up recently and changed into a new, bigger shell. He looks the same and acts the same (runs to hide when he sees me). I realize it's possible that he moulted. How do I know? I'd sure like to know if I've had my first moult!

A newly molted crab will have very noticable sharp black claws (tips on each leg) also they will have alot of hair. Usually they are a brighter, or more rich color.

Sharp black toenails will be a give away.
