    WEndy pretty much covered what you need. What i use is i crush up hermit crab cakes, and i somtimes sprinkle calci-sand in there for a calcium supplement.I recommend you give them cuttlebone or calci- sand. I also put in oats all the time, because my crab likes oats and they spice up the dull commercial food I feed them. Yes you should crush up the food or small crabs will not be able to grab the food with small claws. I also reccommend thawing the brine shrimp cube, but if its perishable food ( not just this but any perishable food) you should only keep it in there for a night so that you do not attract unwanted bugs.
