Is that like a craft store place? If it is then yeah lots of craft stores(like Michaels) sell cholla wood, sea shells, and fish nets for wayyy wayyyy wayyyyyy cheaper than you will ever find in a pet store. Just make sure you wash the shells.

Also make sure that they are not coated in shiny stuff etc. It sounds pretty good. I bought a huge lot of cholla logs so I even have too many for my 120 gallon tank.

Lol, I've never even heard of 'Hobby Lobby' before this, I just assumed it was a craft store. I have Michaels, though.

the only craft store I have is Michael's near me. I went to look for shells and they had a bag of assorted shells for like $8, but there was all different kinds. Most of them weren't even the type for a crab. Does anyone know what section they have them in? Maybe I'll wait till I go to the OBX and look for shells there.

I went to JoAnnes, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby today, and Hobby Lobby by far had the best deal and the best shells. I bought a huge basket of shells for $10. I probably got about a dozen usable shells, and the rest were damaged, scallops, or I donated to the kids collections. It had something for everyone...tiny-medium/large. They had the biggest selection also.

I got about 15 usable shells from the Christmas tree shop for $1. They were mostly small to medium but just the sizes I needed. I got a ton of junky other shells though. I just dumped them in this bucket of unusable or painted shells I have.
