    </span>

    -----------------------

    So I took all of the extra shells out of the tank today to boil them and get them all cleaned up. I was sorting through them on the kitchen table and I noticed a little flea looking guy on the table. When I went to squish it he hopped away like a flea would (a jump of probably 5") - so once I was done there I inspected my tank... and I saw 1 more in there near the back. It was extreemly hard to see as they're very tiny and black.

    Are these the "ok" ones? They're very tiny, pure black, and jumped.. the ones I read about (springtails) are not black?

    I think I might have a molter... so I dont want to rush the gun on a deep clean. I havn't checked any crabs as it's early and they're all buried.. they usually dont come out till later tonight.

    Any advice? - (I have no cats/dogs or fleas myself LOL) - I did just buy a new thing of moss as the pet store... thats the only thing I can think of where they were introduced.

    Thank you,
    Tink

    Yake the guys that are sick and give them bathes. Just get the water in there shells and dump it out and you will see alot of flies. After that clean the reg. tank and put the crabs in the ISO(that have flies), and once your done cleaning your tank put the ones that are not sick in it.
    Hope this helps!!!!

    You should try to boil everything and put the non-molting crabs in another tank. That's what I did when I had bugs. They looked like fleas, but they flew instead of jumped. I was in like the exact situation as you because Crusty's molting!

    I've tried to find more since then and I haven't. I took one of my most active crabs and did a water dunk and nothing came out. I then took a shell that my 2nd most active crab switched out of (just last night) and nothing but a little string of poopie came out.

    Should I just continue to monitor them? I really dont want to dig these guys up if they're molting. =[
