Hi everybody! I'm an amateur crabber, started 5 years ago with 3 crabs in a 10 gallon crabitat. Two of my crabs have passed on, but the third crab (Dangles) is thriving. The surviving crab was constantly pulling legs off of and forcing the other two into shell trades, so I opted not to get any more crabs to keep him company. (All the literature I've read says crabs are social creatures.) Although I enjoy caring for Dangles, this is probably the end of my crabbing adventure. I'm definitely not looking to re-home him, I just won't take on any new charges. One thing I find irritating regarding crab care is that stores sell things that are totally inappropriate... like those dinky plastic boxes, dinky bags of sand, and gimicky "crab kits".
