Harmful woods?

  1. I know that Pine and Cedar are harmful to crabs, but what about birch.. and do you think hot glue used in a hot glue gun would be toxic to the hermies?

    any response would be great thank you!!! :straw:

    I think that the hot glue would be okay unless the crabs could eat it. then its not good.

    Birch wood is fine for the crabs. If you plan on getting it from your backyard, make sure no pesticides or other chemicals have been used on the tree. I would also bake it to kill any parasites, or bugs that could be burrowed in the bark. I think 325 degrees for 30 to 40 mins. should do the trick.
