I got Big Red from this shop in the mall. The reason for me getting her was because the lady said that she had been there for 4 months and no one wanted her because her shell was broken. So I decided to take her and see if I could have her change shells. She would not change shells and I could tell with the shell she was in it was hard for her to move around. But she would not change shells. She had stayed in the same place for days. So today I decided to see if she would come out. When I picked her up you could smell this realy bad smell. She came out of here shell but she was dead. This is so hard because this is my first loss.

I'm very sorry to hear about your crab. :( You tried your best with her and you gave her a very good home! She looks like she was a very pretty crab and I'm sure she was happy to be with you, even for a short time.

That's so sad! :( First losses are always so hard. But at least she was happy at the end of her life, in a great home with a caring owner. I'm so sorry! :(

Sorry for your loss. Hang in there. It is hard to loose one. I had my first loss about four months ago. You came to the right place for support and to learn about hermit crabs!
