I think my Hermin is dead, so that means Shelle is all alone. I really, really want to buy more crabs so she can be happy again.

I know she's lonely because she dug up hermin while he was molting.
    :(

So, I need to know as much about getting new crabs as possible before getting them. My cage is a 10 gal.
(just so you can draw conclusions)

Normally I would talk about a probably-dead crab in the obituaries, but this is about Shelle, because she's all I got. :( Please help.

If there is a fishy smell, that means that Hermin is dead. Do not jump to conclusions before you are sure that he really is in Hermie Heaven.

A 10-gallon tank is perfect for two medium-sized hermit crabs. If you have smaller crabs, than you can comfortably fit 4 in a 10-gallon tank.

I am sorry about Hermin, but as I said before in my earlier post, do not go bury him unless you are sure he really is dead.

Read some stickys in general care for some tips that will help you with the crabs and tanks. A ten gallon is a good size for 2. Shelle probably did not dig up your other crab because she was lonely but probably because she is not getting enough calcium and protein. Feeding the following every once in a while would help.
    Peanut Butter
    Cuttlebone
    Shrimp
    Meat
    Chicken
    Seeds and grains
Seaweeds from the grocery store (Who knows what bugs live in seaweed from the beach)
    and nuts.

Well, I have some pine nuts I could give her, if thats O.K.
So, I should just read a book on getting new crabs? I guess that would be a good idea.
I'm pretty sure he's dead, he smells like cricket droppings. :(
Well, maybe it's for the best. I would hate for him to suffer for so long.
    Thanks, guys.

    Oh, good.
I was wondering about pine nuts for a long time.
Are there any books that anyone suggests?

Just Google "Hermit Crab Books" and try to find a Land Hermit Crab book that is suitable for you. . . I like books with a lot of facts and information, but also with pictures and captions. . .
