i was sitting at my comp this morning when i heard my cats play with something, sounded like change.
when i looked over, i saw they were playing with a small shell.
i thought they took it from my shell box, so i went to put it back -
and then i saw it had a little crab inside :)
he went deep in the shell so he wasn't hurt.
i cant figure out how he climbed out...
i lowered the climbing net a few inches down and tried to seal the lid better.
at least now i know my cats cant hurt the hermies, and if one will escape again they`ll find it.
the funniest thing was that he crawled about 8 feet from the tank (he was near the litter box)

I had a friend's dog find an escapee once. We were dog-sitting, and in the middle of the night my crab Nibs drops out of the top of the tank onto the floor, and the dog was like "sweet! New toys from the sky!" and started chewing on the shell. The crab was scared, but not harmed. She's still a little jumpy though.

Oh wow, yeah, it's a good thing he wasn't hurt! I have tree cats, and none of them seem to care about the hermies. I've put the hermies on them to make sure they had no interest, and they just sat there. So i have no rescue team if they escape, lol!
