I did fine in Bio, but Chem was bad. Of course having my now-hubby in there with me didn't help. And the woman was named Ms Rector...that is just waaayyy too easy to make fun of. The problem is you spend all your time making sure you don't slip and say Rectum, that you miss half of what she's saying!

Politics...ugg...that's just one more reason we don't have any of our TV's hooked up to the outside world...Movies only...If I want to see what's wrong with the world I can use my DSL, and I don't have to worry about the kids seeing.

Okay, so maybe I'm a weird, over-protective mom type...still better than being Hannibal Lecter right?! Thomas Moore...now there's a weird cat.

Books...I'm a fiction addic...Rice,Grisham,Jordan,Crighten,Koontz,King,Dickens(LOVE HIM),Austen,Brontes...pretty much anything really...Viollete aggrevated the crap outta me...grrr...but I read Oliver Twist at least twice each year.

Music...hmm the "No List" is shorter...No Tejano, No Ganster Rap...hmm I like just about anything else.

My hubby studies Philosophy, Theology, Dead Languages, Role-Playing Games, Computer Programming, and lost civilizations in his spare time (just to name a few of the nutty hobbys)...so no worries about me thinking that you are the weird one...

That all sounds pretty normal to me, lol. We allow the kids to watch a few shows on Disney - the 2 older ones seem to really like "Than's so Raven."

Ever read any Evanovich? Funny stuff - love the descriptions.

Holy cow someone thinks I'm normal!! I'm a firm believer in "Normalicy is Relative."

In other words, I'm perfectly sane, it's the rest of the world that's NUTZ!

Evanovich? I don't think so...hmm...something to look up...may owe you a thank you later on!

Theoretically, abnormality could be relatively normal then!

I missed the beginning of this discussion - reversed indentation always bites me.

Crystal, your husband's hobbies sound an awful lot like my husband's hobbies. Check out his language generators: http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~pound

I love Evanovich! I finished "Eleven on Top" earlier this week. I am reading James Lee Burke's latest now. But my absolute favorite author is Lee Child, with Robert Crais coming in second.

I liked the sciences ... but my Dad was a chemist (he recently retired) so there was a lot of pressure to do really well and I always felt that I wasn't measuring up in that area. So I majored in art instead. The parents were not pleased. [IMG]

DUDE!!! Seriously HUGE thanks for the Evanovich tip! I went to the library on Thursday (okay so I actually went to three) and gathered them up...I read 1-11 by noon on Sunday...yeesh...Morelli is hot...but so is Ranger....wooo...I gotta live vicariously!!

I think there are one or two other Evanovich books I could check out, but I may have to check out James Lee Burke, Lee Child, and Robert Crais too...my hubby thinks I read too fast...but I also like Rereading books, so it's not too bad...2-3 books a day isn't too bad is it?? It's not like I can polish one off in 30mins like a speedreader or anything. He just reads slow.

Anywho, thanks again for the Authors...!

I went to a Robert Crais book signing on Friday night. It was kinda fun -- and now I have a personalized, autographed copy of his latest book! Randy Wayne White is going to be at the same bookstore at the end of the month, so I'll probably go to that one too. I've been to Michael Connolly and Lee Child book signings before -- all favorite authors of mine.

If you liked the Evanovich, here are a few more authors you might enjoy:

Julie Smith (set in New Orleans)
    Laura Lippmann (set in Baltimore)
Carl Hiaasen (set in South Florida -- some are better than others. I LOVED _Tourist Season_ and _Stormy Weather_, though. His last couple have been young adult fiction, and the one I read so far was quite good, actually)
Jessica Speart (different locales, but all animal-based mysteries)
Linda Fairstein (set in New York City)

Gaah, I know there are others, but I just can't think ... need to go to bed in the worst way. I've been reading a lot of Henning Mankell lately (a Swedish author) but those have a different pace: more pensive, but still excellent.

I thought I read fairly fast, but I usually can't do more than one a day! Are you SURE you're not a speed reader? LOL
