Exo Terra - Heatwave mat

    it works anywhere as long as it's touching substrate. But it is less effective if it is on the sides of the tank unless you insulate it because heat rises. I have mine on the right side of the tank and my right side has substrate to the tip of the heating pad and I put a piece of coconut background around the pad to insulate it and it works fine. Don't expect more than a few degrees though on the side method and it takes ~ 3 days for it to actully warm it all up due to the amount of substrate you need to pile up on the side.

    Perhaps this one isn't a good choice for me then... Im looking for a heat mat to more heat the air rather than the substrate..

    Does anyone have an ideas or suggestions??

    Whats the temp in you r tank now ? i use a heat lamp to heat the air

    Gets up to about 30 degress celcius with the light on, which is within the reccommended level, but during the night it drops right down to say 15 degess celcius..
