Some of you may know I'm also a member on the HCA board by the same username, but I wanted to post this here as well to get all the feed back I can:

What is your guys' take on dumpster diving and scavenging supplies that your local pet store just throws out? I've heard on some reptile boards stories of user's great finds from tanks to food to equipment that for one reason or another has just been thrown out instead of donated to a rescue or sold at a lower "Salvage" price.

To kickstart the conversation I guess I'll share my two cents: I personally don't want to know what's in my local PetsMart dumpster but with it being so close, we're talking walking distance, I'm willing to try at least once. If I don't get scarred for life on what I find I might make a regular visit.
