Is it safe for them? For Foods and Fitness class we have to do a project where we make nutrition bars, and I wanted to make one that hermit crabs, people, and dogs can all eat. But all of the recipes need dry milk...

This is my recipe so far. Make suggestions if you want, especially if you have a dog, too!
    3 1/2 cups oats
1 1/2 cups not fat dry milk (if it's okay)
4 scoops organic no-salt peanut butter
    1 cup pure maple syrup
    2 egg whites beaten
    1/4 cup natural apple sauce
    1 teaspoon honey
1/4 cup juice (i haven't decided what kind yet)

Thanks! If dry milk is unsafe, what should I use to replace it?

Sorry I haven't been on in a while... I missed you people. My crabs are doing good, though! :) :straw:

I changed the apple sauce to mushed bananas, and the made the juice apple juice. Does anybody know if all of the ingredients are safe?

I'm not honestly sure about the dried milk. I tried looking it up online, but just found a few sites talking about how amazing dried milk is to eat, so I could tell you. What does the ingredients panel on the dried milk list?

I don't think they can have the dried milk.

Maybe you could used dried coconut milk?

And how much is the "4 scoops organic no no-salt peanut butter"?

This looks like a recipe i would try!

I've not tried dry, just organic milk as a treat now and then. Check to see what's on the ingredients for it. Coconut milk powder would work.

As long as the milk is organic it's fine- great for hermit crabs? I'm not sure however if it's suitable for dogs mind... (3 completely different animals- you've got a big challenge there! I wish you luck!)

I think the 4 scoops probably equals like 5 teaspoons?? Hmmm... I'll have to check out the dry milk when my Grammy comes home...
