My crab has been in his coconut hut partially buried in calci sand. Have seen NO movement for about 2 weeks. Is this normal? He's molted 2 or 3 times before this all right. The temp has been 78 degrees and at times 80 degrees with moist but not saturated conditions. I can't smell anything, but maybe because he is the his hut.

I don't know how buried he is, but what happens if you mist the tank? No matter where my crabs are, there is always some movement when I mist.

I misted once a day, but never lifted up the coconut hut. Should I lift it to mist and see? I didn't know if I should disturb him or not.

I would lift the hut to check on him....just don't dig him up if he's buried.

Just now I opened the window next to his tank and he moved and hid when the sun came through. He is still under his hut though. I don't know how he's getting by because I don't think he's eaten for a long time. So I think I'll just leave him alone.

i usually don't worry about or touch any non-moving crabs until i smell a dead fish smell in my tank. then i go in and find the dead crab and smell it to make sure i ain't gettin' ride of the wrong crab.
