Here is Cookie! He finally changed his shell, I am so excited! He is the second molt I had. Bingo & Tiny Bounty Hunter molted recently as well, but they are still camera shy and spend most of the time hidding or dug down. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the nice comments. He molted in mid January, so it has been a month already. He is a purple pincher and he does have a beautiful color. I am really glad he is out of the shell.

He reminds me of my crab, Shelle, mostly because they both molted and look very similar. Even their shells looks kind of similar!

Wow, tell him he picked a great shell. My E is going through the shell shop, I think he's claimed one already; he pooped on its opening and is sleeping by it pretty much 24/7. Now all he's got to do is change into it.

I here crabs prefer turbos usually, so I'm gonna add a few of those to my shopping cart.

The brown shell was painted! It was a uggly green with googly eyes when I first got Bingo. He changed to a different shell, I boiled it and remove the paint, place it back in the 'tat and Bingo change back into it, all in just a matter of 25-30 min.
BTW, LordRhal, I love your new pictures. I wish my crabbies were that active. Right now, only Bingo, Cookie, Bounty Hunter and Stewart are out, the other 8 are down! Even Dorothy, who molted in December, is down again. She might be molting again since she was missing a limb when I first got her and for some reason, it didn't regrow completely on the last molt...
I am starting to believe that hermit crabs do hybernate...

    Thanks lia,
I think it's mostly because I have many crabs now, 22, that they seem to be so active. Even though I have about 8-9 of them underground there are still a bunch of them above ground so I see them more often =)
