Not me, I made a poll asking if anyone knew if they could see color...
I don't think we know as much as we think!
Well, the fact that they can chirp suggests that they either hear or at least sense vibrations. My guess would be that their experience is closer to the latter, but I don't really know for sure.
Oh I totally forgot about the chirping...since I've yet to hear it! That is a very good point Moire!
I'm telling you guys...she knows all!
I think they see in colour cause they chose new shells, by size , shape, colour and the condition of the shell. Well thats what I've been told.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the chirp. I was royally told off by Cowboy today for disturbing him. I know they seem to communicate by tapping each other with their antennas, but I tap the tank and they just act like nothing is going on, so I guess they are just good at ignoring me.
Ignoring huh? Sounds like they have the same breed of "selective hearing" as my kids! "Pie" they hear perfectly, but "clean your room" just doesn't seem to be received...hmm??
True, I can open the lid of the tank and they will scatter at that sound. They will come out to the sound of my voice when I have them on the desk, but if they are not in the mood to socialize, they look around like they have no idea you're there. Definately like my 7 year old. The sound of a refrigerator opening at midnight will wake her, but I can stand right next to her and tell her 100 times to do something and she'll look at me and say, "huh?"
oh, and don't even bother if the GameCube is on!
