Can hermit crabs eat lotus root??

Also, what kind of bamboo do they eat? Because there's lots of types...I found "Chinese bamboo" at a store, but I wasn't sure if it was safe for them...

I know the "Lucky Bambo" that they sell in Walmart, etc. is not really bambo and is toxic to the crabs. As far as other bambo, I'm pretty sure it's safe.

Lotus Root is used in stir fry dishes and is safe for humans, but I couldn't find anything about being toxic to reptiles, etc. :flower:
