    Hi All
As you will know by this post I am new to crabbing.
I had one hermit crab to start with then I read that it is better with more so I purchased two more the same size.
They seem to get along great.
Last night my original crab buried himself completely in the sand, thhis is something we just set up in the aquarium after a little net surfing for info.
I assumed he was going to molt as he was there all day, well until about an hour ago and now he is out and about.
Is something wrong or is this a normal behavior.
I am very worried as we have read about how fragile a time this is and we are not confident in our knowledge on the care etc for the crabs.
I kind of came by this crab by chance or I would have studied more before purchasing them.
I am really enjoying them so far and would like to make sure all goes well for them.
Any info will be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

normal behaviour- they will often practice dig or just dig for fun.........watch for other pre-molt signs like eating alot- going to the water dishes often etc

    Hi Again
Well he is baried again but still has a hole to look out of.
Someone told me if he is molting there will be no hole that he will bary himself completely.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Don't worry about them digging under, this is normal, molting or not. If there is no movement for extended periods of time, they probably went down to molt. If they look like they're still eating and moving around and active, then they're probably fine.
