    Fast response. Unfortunately not a good one though:

    thank you for your response. no where does it say "temporary transportation". as a matter of fact, the front page reads:

    Hermit Crab Cage New!
    Provides a secure and stylish home for your pet...

    "HOME...."

    SAD that a company is only out to make money and not care for the lives of an animal.

    Thanks for your inquiry.

    Our crab cages are specifically geared toward the point of sale, where a
    consumer purchases a hermit crab and is provided some means for
    transporting it home. When arriving home they are presumed to have an
    environment suitable for the long term care of the hermit crab they
    purchased. This is much like the practice of purchasing a fish from a
    pet store and being provided a temporary container to transport them
    home in until they can be placed in their permanent home, presumably an
    aquarium.

    We disagree... we think our cages are a far more humane environment for
    transport of hermit crabs than any cup provided by retailers.

    Once again, thanks for your inquiry and concern. We will keep your
    supply list on file should we decide to pursue the hermit crab habitat
    market.

    That is false advertisement. If in fact they are meant soley for transportation home, why would you care about "stylish colors and stacking for storage and decoration"? So sad that they can get away with this treatment.

    Although I agree it is false advertisement and believe that they are selling them as a crab "home", I think by stacking they mean that they want retailers to buy them to sell and they stack easily on store shelves ...

    HEHEHE ... This one's for you Mallie! Start from my email at the bottom ....

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Pet shops have various needs for transporting hermit crabs within their
    respective organizations and from their retail sites home with the
    customer. Hence we make them in different sizes and allow the customer
    to choose the range of sizes they require. I have had our Web administrator change the wording of the products page
    to remove the "home" reference, which was not our intention. Please
    see for yourself, though you may have to hit the reload button on your
    browser to see the changes.
    Oh, I just sent a hot email off to them. Grrr, I have to admit I was not very nice either... must be that Irish blood in me or the taurian in me that took over *looking down* It is so sad people are so ignorant and greedy that they have to make a buck this way.
    Kinda sounds like a nice way of saying "thanks for your letter, but if we want your opinion, we'll give it to ya". Jerks!! At least we've all said our piece to 'em!!
    Hey, I was looking at the hermie stuff on ebay, and look what I found there- item # 280146929464 and oh boy "It comes with food, a couple of shells and a spray bottle." Looks like someone on ebay is up to the same thing, and the person's name is perfect for such a thing-shark225[IMG]
