You have to contact the airline you're using. Some will allow it, some don't. Have a backup plan in place incase your airline doesn't allow them.

How long are you going on vacation? If it's like less than a week it's not really worth it as it will stress out the crabs a ton.

Another plane ticket would be REALLY expensive. I think there's a pet fee of like $10 or something.

That seems like it would be very stressful for them. Perhaps you could find a pet sitter qualified in crab care? They would probably only have to check like once a day for usually around $15 each visit. You just have to drill them to make sure they know "real" care.

yes some airlines do allow crabs as a carry-on. only reason i know is a few years ago i was on my way to mexico for a missions trip and for 3 stinkin' hours I got stuck next to a 12 yr old girl who talked to her hermit crab for the whole 3 hrs.
****Hint... don't talk to your crabs while your sitting next to someone...haha. it will irritate them!!!! it did me!!***hahaha

yep for the whole 3 hours!! i was close to telling her to stop but i'm a nice person so i just put up with it. i got luckly, well not really on my next 3 hour flight, i didn't get stuck to a kid talking to her pet. I got stuck next to a grandpa and grandson, kid was a boyscout. and for almost the whole 3 hours the grandpa talked to the sun about all different types of planes! that was very boring!!

I wouldn't have minded sitting next to the 12yr or the grandson on the flights but my old cd player(before i got my ipod) had broke the day before I left. I was not to happy while sitting next to those people on the 3 hour flights. lol
BUT my missions trip to Mexico was awsome so that was worth it!
