Okay so for the last say oh week i have been at my friends house. While I was there my mom took care of my hermies. She didnt handle them or anything(i dont let anyone else touch them without my permission lol) she would change their food and water, and mist daily, and thats about it. She said when I got home that taking care of hermits are hard work LOL i said u didnt even do everything needed shes like what i forget,im like nothing its just u didnt deep cleanor anything You didnt have to,but being a hermie owner is lots of things, and bla bla bla so I told her everything I know about hermies.and shes fascinated (got off track oops:) lol well anyways

I went upstairs to my room to check on my hermies and i decided it was time for a deep clean. so I took everything out and when i was taking out a hermie hut Funk was right underneath the surface trying to get up. So i picked him up and he was a new color. So i looked down in the little"tunnel" that he had made and there was the Exo of one of his legs. He is done moulting and everything, and imn soo happy. I gave him a small bath then played with him a bit. hes the same as before he moulted,so i checked on Anna and she hasn't moulted yet,and shes still very shy.

    I'll have pictures soon!!!:)

How long did it take? It should take several weeks so if it happened over the weekend something's wrong... Make sure you did not dig him up too because you may have stoped him half way through the molt. COngrats on the molt, though!:) :D

I've heard molts that are 3 days long (especially since Funk is a small crab) so I wouldn't worry that much.:D

Even if he's a micro; 3 days does not sounds right. A week might be reasonable but I've never heard of that short a molt. My dime size crabs went down for 20 days in his molt.

Still. That's really a short time for a crab to molt in.

Maybe you could check on the bottom if your tanks not too heavy. Whenever my hermies dig I look at the bottom and see their little cute legs moving! :)

Me too! Right now I'm watching Van as he's down for his first molt! It definitely makes the waiting easier when you can see at least part of them.

I am gonna have to see if I can look through the bottom of the tank and see her. I am still stuck at work until 11pm eastern time. Isnt it un-american to make me work on July 4th and not even give my double time for it?? haha
